Interview with Julian Hertzler, Business Development Representative
Peers: How would you describe your job to a bunch of five-year-olds?
Julian: Peers helps people to train themselves and learn things for the future, like driving a bike is something for you. My job is to get in touch with these people, who want to get training and explain how we can help them develop their bike driving skills.
Peers: What was your biggest learning at Peers?
Julian: First of all, I have learned that start-up has a very, very fast pace. You have to be quick in getting things together. And for my job … I have learned a lot about focusing on my target continuously.
Peers: Why are you excited about your job?
Julian: I like to help people find a solution to their problems. In business development, you do that every day, you speak to people to find out how your product will help them.
Peers: As mentoring is a big part of Peers if you could meet any living person for dinner, who would you pick and why?
Julian: The first one that comes to my mind is Barack Obama, maybe because of the elections in the USA now and because of his biography which I am currently listening to. Also because of today’s situation in the whole world. I am curious about him, he must be a good leader and a cool person to get-to-know with.
Peers: Now we are amid in pandemic. Do you have any home office routine?
Julian: I try to do sports every morning, I go running before I start my workday and I guess it is easier from home. Other than that, it is very standard for me, I start working at 8 am. After, I have meetings and calls as it is the biggest part of my job.
Peers: If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?
Julian: Right now, I think about being an expert in Sales, I learned a lot in this field lately, and would be cool to become an expert soon.
Outside the job, I would definitely choose surfing.
Peers: Which fictional family would you want to be part of?
Julian: From the TV show Vikings, “The Ragnar Family” would be cool to be part of. sailing around Europe and having adventures seems to be a lot of fun right now.
