Interview with Ellen Nguyen, Online Marketing Intern
Peers: Why did you decide to join Peers?
Ellen: I saw Peers on Linkedin accidentally and was appealed by the idea to offer a tailored learning path for everyone. As a fresh graduate and receiver of mass education, I’m aware of the importance of customized learning. The AI-based learning platform offered by Peers can improve individual skills and exploit their potential.
So, I instantly knew this is the company I would like to join and contribute all my abilities and make this learning opportunity accessible to everyone.
Peers: If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would you choose and why?
Ellen: I would have the ability to understand the human mind and behavior. It is even greater if I can control it. In normal life, having a clear sense of what others think helps us avoid conflict and miscommunication and strengthen personal relationships. In my job, as a marketer, I can predict how customers will act and therefore create an appropriate marketing strategy.
Peers: If you could have dinner with a celebrity, who would you choose?
Ellen: I don’t really know. I don’t have any idols or I kind of think that each person has a different life. If they are good at something, we can learn from it and praise them at the moment. But after then, we need to focus on our own life.
Peers: Do you have any productivity tricks, especially in the home office?
Ellen: I think staying curious is something that keeps me always active. I love to start the day right the way with the new tasks received from my team leader because I can always learn something new.
Peers: What’s one thing your colleagues don’t know about you? Any secret talents?
Ellen: It would be that I like making videos. I have one professional camera, an action camera, and my phone. I even have my youtube channel, not sharing it yet! I also have an idea that I can make videos for our company like a series of daily routines of employees, work-life, or team meeting at Peers office.
Peers: How do you learn?
Ellen: Mostly I learn by doing. But before doing, I first research the information to clearly understand the situation and find out some tips. And then I will make a simple plan for it. After that, I will execute the plan step by step. And that is when, I can learn and remember much more than by only reading the information from books or on the Internet.
